Roman Reigns explains why he travels to Saudi Arabia

What's the story?

WWE SmackDown Live superstar Roman Reigns recently spoke with Newsweek and discussed a variety of topics. Reigns said he wanted to be part of the WWE campaign to promote change in Saudi Arabia and that he did not want to stay out of the way.

In case you do not know that …

Roman Reigns is widely regarded as one of the most polarizing Superstars of this generation. The Big Dog has long been a mainstay of the WWE's main event scene.

Reigns participated in his first main event in WrestleMania in 2015, when he faced Brock Lesnar for the world heavyweight title. He then hosted the three consecutive events' Mania.

He was forced to give up his universal title last year to resume his fight against leukemia. He made his triumphant return to the circle on the road to WrestleMania 35, before defeating Drew McIntyre at the Show of Shows. McIntyre then broke the character, where he congratulated Reigns for defeating such struggles.

The heart of the problem

While chatting with Newsweek, Reign opened continuously in Saudi Arabia to perform, in the middle of a series of controversies surrounding the Kingdom. He said that although the company's badociation with Saudi Arabia is receiving a flurry of mixed reactions, it is doing its best to help promote change in that country, and it wants to be part of it.

There are many mixed and negative reactions. The bottom line for me is that if we want to help promote change, if we want to make an impact, I have to be part of it. I will not be sidelined and talk about how we can do it. I want to be part of the action.

Reigns is ready to face Shane McMahon at the next Super ShowDown event on June 7th.
