Reacting to rumors of contestation of the upcoming Lok Sabha polls, Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt supported his sister Priya Dutt. Earlier last week, Salman Khan also tweeted the denial that he was counting on challenging this year's elections.

Sanjay Dutt was sentenced on Twitter to clarify his participation in the 2019 elections. He said: "The rumor that I will participate in the Loksabha elections is not true. I fully support my country and fully support my sister @PriyaDutt_INC. I urge everyone to make the most votes and vote for our nation! ".

Sanjay is not new to electoral politics – he was a candidate for the Samajwadi party in the Lucknow constituency in 2009, but had to to withdraw after the trial. refused to suspend his conviction under the Weapons Act. He was later named general secretary of the Samajwadi party, but Sanjay resigned from his post and later left the party.

"I learned one thing … you have to go, talk and promise a lot of things. If you do that, then you have to accomplish so much. I do not think that ever happens. It's a different world. Who will give a lecture and all that I do not know. I do not know why I went into politics … what happened. I made a mistake. I do not think an actor will find its place, "said Sanjay Dutt.

Last week, Salman denied having campaigned for a political party or participated in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
