Rajinkanth is currently busy filming Darbar in Mumbai, but has managed to take time for his beloved grandson, Ved Krishna. Ace director of photography, Santosh Sivan, who holds the camera for Darbar, captured some adorable moments and shared them on Twitter.

"Rajini Sir with his grandson – the only candid pictures on my phone they were watching the monitor," tweeted Sivan.

Santosh Sivan and Rajinikanth worked together for the last time in Mani Ratnam's Thalapathy, published in 1991. They meet after a gap of 27 years. AR Murugadoss, known for his films like Sarkar and Thupakki, will team up for the first time with the superstar.

Rajinikanth will play the role of a police officer on screen after an interval of 25 years. The film also stars Nayanthara in the female lead role. Bollywood actors Prateik Babbar and Dalip Tahil will also play an important role. Lyca Productions, the banner that was also behind the science fiction movie 2.0 from Rajinikanth, will fund the film. The film is scheduled for a Pongal release in 2020.

Rajinikanth was last seen as an innkeeper with a dark past in Karthik Subbaraj's director Petta. The film was a resounding success worldwide and brought in more than 200 million crore.
