Singer and folk dancer Haryanvi, Sapna Choudhary, took the plunge and joined Congress in Raj Babbar's New Delhi residence on Saturday night. Congress Secretary General Priyanka Gandhi confirmed the development on her Facebook page.
Sapna, who became famous with his song " aakhya ka yo kaajal" also participated in Big Boss 11 in 2017. In February 2016, two lawsuits were filed against her for hurting feelings of Dalit community during one of his performances in a village of Gurugram.
In September 2016, she attempted suicide on September 4, 2016, while consuming poisonous substances at her home in Chhawla, Nazafgarh, Delhi, alleging harbadment of Dalit activists over a controversial folk song.
