Actor David Schwimmer reacted after social network users had drawn attention to an alleged thief who looked like his character in the American sitcom Friends.
The Blackpool police had posted on Facebook a witness asking to identify him.
Facebook users quickly crammed into the comments section, highlighting the suspect's resemblance to Schwimmer's character Ross Geller in the famous American TV show.
Schwimmer posted a video on his Twitter account that showed him digging through a convenience store with a carton of beer before sneaking down to a CCTV camera.

The alleged robbery took place on September 20
The Lancashire police responded to Schwimmer via his Twitter account saying "Thank you for being there for us" before adding the hashtag "# appreciatethesupport ".
