The eighth season of the popular TV series Game of Thrones will premiere on April 15, 2019.

Almost two years have pbaded since the end of the seventh season of the wildly watched TV series Game of Thrones, so it is obvious that many of us may have forgotten what had happened the previous season. So, here's a quick recap of what happened in the previous season of the series to help you enjoy the upcoming season to premiere on April 15, 2019.

  • Daenerys Targaryen, the girl exiled from the ancient king, returned to Westeros with two armies, three dragons and an iron will to take back the throne of which she thinks he was born. Daenerys finally arrives at Westeros in the seventh season, having wandered to Essos in the previous six seasons.
  • We learn during the last season that Jon Snow is actually not a bastard and that he is the son of Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark. This makes him the legitimate heir to the iron throne. Plus, his real name is Aegon Targaryen.
  • Cersei Lannister seizes all the power and the throne position with which she concludes a pact with Euron Greyjoy for securing the iron fleet. She also takes a brutal revenge on Ellaria and Tyne Sand. Cersei is also pregnant with Jaime Lannister's fourth child.
  • Jaime Lannister meets his brother Tyrion Lannister after convincing Cersei to reach an agreement with Daenerys, the Mother of the Dragons. He also learns that Cersei is pregnant with his child. However, Jaime leaves Cersei alone when he learns that she plans to betray Daenerys and others later.
  • Tyrion Lannister returns to Westeros with his new Queen Daenerys Targaryen and also plays the matchmaker between Jon Snow and Daenerys when Jon arrives at Dragonstone.
  • The rest of the siblings Stark Sansa, Arya and Bran meet in Winterfell. While Sansa enjoys her power as Winterfell's Lady, Arya ends Littlefinger, aka Lord Baelish. Meanwhile, Bran begins to act more bizarre as he declares himself as a three-eyed crow.
