Actor Shah Rukh Khan met with some survivors of acid attacks Wednesday afternoon in Kolkata and asked his fans to pray for their recovery. The actor was in the city where he had also attended a cricket match between his IPL team, Kolkata Knight Riders and Kings XI Punjab, at Eden Gardens.
He shared some glimpses of his meeting with survivors on Twitter and subtitled them: "Thank you all for putting your hands in prayer … and saying that Bhagwan inki zindagi ki nayi shuruaat mein .. Inpar karam karna .. May God have mercy on them … Insha Allah. These sisters need prayers to recover, without distinguishing between the modes of prayer.
The actor spent time with survivors undergoing corrective surgeries as part of the #ToGETherTransformed initiative of the Meer Foundation. Surgeries will be held in New Delhi, Varanasi and Kolkata until March. The Meer Foundation is an NGO that works to strengthen and empower women.
