And now, while Ishaan Khatter is preparing his second film, Dhadak (adaptation of the hit Marathi, Sairat), he admits that promotions can be "a little hectic" but he "benefits". "Everything is an opportunity to learn about oneself," says Ishaan, as he talks about his film, Brother Shahid Kapoor and more.
Do you feel a little more relaxed than Janhvi? [19659003] Even on my first outing, I enjoyed the process of interacting with people about the movie.Many people feel exhausted by the promotions and you are often asked questions similar to several times, but I think it's still interesting.
Dhadak is more commercial than BTC.In that sense, do you believe that the experience is different because in the end, all depends on the numbers?
Not for me, honestly, it should not matter to the actors, but it does dictate a lot of the opportunities that you have. difference in terms of Dhadak is presented, and a much wider audience receives this film, so the reactions are overwhelming, so I feel the magnitude of it. Hopefully people will see that we made an honest effort and that it's a movie apart from the fact that it's an important story.
So, as an artist, you do not even see the slightest difference?
Honestly, these are things I consider externalities. I am very lucky that to make a living, I do what I love. I am beginning to understand the workings of the industry, but for me it is very important to maintain the momentum of positive energy and to improve with each film compared to my work and my job. I do not discriminate between movies. What is most important is that I continue to grow as an actor. It is important not to be caught in a rat race as you begin to lose your sense of self. So, I'm just focused on building myself as a person.
Are you anxious that Dhadak will be compared to Sairat?
Comparisons are already on. I think Dhadak is sort of a tribute to Sairat. We did not make this film with the intention of making a better movie than Sairat or even as good as that. We have never intended to compete with Sairat. Our idea is to advance the story and make it accessible to a wider audience and interpret it in our own way.
You are also a very good dancer like your brother, Shahid Kapoor? I guess the dance is flowing in the blood.
I feel very lucky. Our mother (Neelima Azeem) is the first dancer in the family and she is a very developed dancer and far superior to ours. We inherited everything from her. I come from a family who loves his job and is very involved. So, I want to keep getting better so that I can make them proud.
Your mother must have been a great pillar of strength for you …
She is a symbol of strength in my life. She is someone from whom I have directly derived a sense of strength and resilience, and she has also deeply entrenched the importance and value of women in my life. Women can be and most often are much stronger than men so I think she's been the most important person in my life. In addition, we also have a lot of fun discussing movies (laughs).
You have always been very close to Shahid. How do you define the equation?
Shahid bhai was the strongest male influence in my life and I have a very deep attachment to him. Since I'm a kid, I've admired him. I was about eight years old when he became a film actor and I was very happy to see him on his plateaus while I was seeing the inner vision of filmmaking through filmmaking, so I did not feel like watching movies. spent a lot of time on sets. Later, he became very busy but I always competed for his attention. He was also one of my big influences as an actor.
