Director Karan Johar told fans and fans on Twitter that his account was not working well after screenshots of an abusive tweet against Shah Rukh Khan, allegedly "beloved" of Karan, have been posted online. He stated that the account shared random images and that he "liked" strange tweets that he "did not even read".
The explanation came after several Shah Rukh Khan fans launched the #ShameOnKaranJohar trend on Twitter after he seemed to have liked an abusive tweet directed at the actor. The hashtag was the fifth trend in India on Friday with more than 50,000 tweets. Shah Rukh has since reacted to the incident.

The tweet that he seemed to have liked to compare box office performances of Karan production and those of Akshay Kumar Starrer Kesari with Zero of Shah Rukh. He called Shah Rukh a "Clbad B" star, a comparison with who would be an "insult" to Akshay.

Shah Rukh's fans were furious with Karan, calling him a fake friend of Shah Rukh and demanding that he publicly apologize. "Karan Johar, a cruel snake I 've never seen," wrote one of them. "Simply remove SRK's films from the filmography of cobra productions and see where it really is," wrote another.
Shah Rukh did not delay in defending Karan. He wrote on Twitter: "I hate clarifications on the SM. @karanjohar is technologically challenged but has other qualities like his taste for clothes !? Just like Life, twitter does not come with instructions, so mistakes are natural … and it has big fingers. Go slow, do not make war with love … it's more fun. "
