Shamita Shetty manhandled, driver slammed by road rage | Mumbai News

THANE: Actor Shamita Shetty was verbally abused and her driver was brutalized in a road rage incident near the Viviana Mall in Thane on Tuesday. The incident occurred after a motorist crashed into Shetty's car. The motorist was accompanied by two of his friends.

Police have registered a complaint against the three unidentified people, whose details of the vehicle were provided by Shetty's driver, Darshan Sawant, during his complaint to the Rabodi police station. An officer stated that Shetty was in Thane for personal work and that the incident occurred around 1:30 pm. When Sawant stopped the car to inspect the damage, the three accused in another vehicle were are also posed and would have taken part in a fight. Sawant said the trio had slapped and threatened him.

No one was injured in the incident, police informed.

A case was registered under sections 279, 323, 504, 506, 427 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code. An offense has been registered against the trio that has not yet been arrested, the police said, adding that the car involved in the accident had been identified.
