However, they withdrew their nomination of filmfare 2019 post the inclusion of the writer the name of Jyoti Kapoor by their side. The two men published a statement on twitter and informed the motive. In their statements, Shantanu and Akshat said they would not want to share the prize with someone who did not work on the film with them. The authors of Badhaai Ho thought it would be better to lose the price rather than share it with someone (Jyoti Kapoor) who did not work on Badhaai Ho.
The question started after the screenwriter, Jyoti Kapoor's name, was included with Shantanu and Akshat in the prize nominations. However, four or five days ago, his name was dropped from the nominations. Post for which she asked that her name be included in the nominations for the prize, because she claimed to have worked on the film. After that, Shantanu and Akshat decided to remove their name from the list of nominations for the Best Original Story of the 2019 Filmfare Awards.
