Shazam has a Superman cameo (sort of)

Shazam is the time when DC movies embrace the good side of comic stories. Certainly Aquaman also had a bright and radiant color palette and a deluge of humor, but he still had that anguish and grudge that modern superheroes seem to have (probably Batman v Superman remains).

Shazam, however, is an out-and-a-delight of a film that brings us back to Christopher Reeve's Superman – at a time when superhero movies did not need to be "sociable" or "realistic". He is full of joy, light and kindness. He makes fun of the genre, but in a completely harmless way.

If you have not seen the movie and want to do it, it is at that point that you stop reading. This piece talks about a man of Steel's own cameo, Superman, in the movie, so that there will inevitably be minor spoilers.

Yes, Superman appears in the movie. It's at the very end when Mark Strong's Dr. Thaddeus Sivana is defeated and Freddy, once again, eats his lunch alone. The usual suspects mistreat him again, but this time Shazam is helping him, who not only tells how Freddy helped him to become aware of his super powers, but that he also brings his boyfriend, which makes him very happy.

Instead, we see only the iconic blue bodycon suit (which looks like the one that Cavill wears) and the person wearing it can only be seen from the neck up to the feet.

Not yet official, but Henry Cavill is probably also absent. Superman. This is because the DC Extended Universe (DCEU) itself has ceased to exist. Future films will now be part of their own franchises and we will not see any films connected to the DC in the film world of Marvel before at least years. After the bombing of the Justice League at the box office, Warner Bros also wants to focus on characters who are not necessarily Batman and Superman.
