Shiv Kapur shines as the invitation of Jeev Milkha Singh begins

The Indian Professional Golf Tour (ITMP) and TAKE Solutions jointly launched the Jeev Milkha Singh Invitational presented by TAKE Solutions. The tournament will take place from November 1st to 4th at the Chandigarh Golf Club.

The tournament, in its third edition, was renamed the "TAKE Open Golf Championship" at "Invitation Jeev Milkha Singh presented by TAKE Solutions" in honor of Indian Golf Legend.

The event that will take place on Jeev's home course will offer a RS. 1.5 crore price, the highest ever recorded for an event in Chandigarh.

The tournament should feature one of the strongest grounds of all time in Chandigarh. During the week, the biggest stars of Indian golf will be in action, including Jeev Milkha Singh, Shiv Kapur, SSP Chawrasia, Jyoti Randhawa, Khalin Joshi, Ajeetesh Sandhu and Viraj Madappa.

The foreign challenge will be led by the likes of Bangladesh's Md Siddikur Rahman and the Sri Lankan Mithun Perera, N Thangaraja and Anura Rohana.

This is the first time that a PGTI event is named after an iconic Indian professional golfer. Jeev has conquered an unknown territory for more than two decades when he became one of the first Indian golfers to experience success internationally. Since then, he has added many other premieres and Indian records to his name.

Jeev has the rare distinction of being the only Indian to have twice won the Order of Merit of the Asian Tour (in 2006 and 2008). He has won several titles on the European Tour, the Japan Golf Tour and the Asian Tour and has 14 major appearances to his credit. Jeev also reached a world record in the world rankings of 28.

The Pro-Am event of the Jeev Milkha Singh 2018 Invitational presented by TAKE Solutions, played at the Chandigarh Golf Club on Wednesday was won by professional Digvijay Singh and his team composed of Jyoti Matharoo, Sanjay Talwar and Gurpreet Bakshi.

Shiv Kapur posted a score of seven years to equal the course record and gave him the lead of the first round.

Four- The winner of the Asian tour Kapur has managed to match the previous course records set by Mukesh Kumar, Gaganjeet Bhullar, Gaurav Ghei and Ranjit Singh.

Karandeep Kochhar (66) and Abhijit Singh Chadha (67) and Chandigarh both playing at home were followed closely by the leader in second and third place respectively. Om Prakash Chouhan (67) from Mhow also took third place, as did Chadha.

Golf legend and tournament host, Jeev Milkha Singh, also playing in front of his home crowd, got off to a slow start with a 77 that put him in the foreground. tied 99th
