Director Rohit Shetty delivered his biggest blockbuster Simmba last year and even announced his sequel, Sooryavanshi with Akshay Kumar. The filmmaker is often asked about the next installment of his other successful franchise, Golmaal, but has not announced the same thing yet. Actor Shreyas Talpade confirmed that the filmmaker is actually working on the story of Golmaal 5 and hopes to be called for filming here next year.
Asked about the same thing, Shreyas told CineBlitz in an interview: "As we gave a clue in Aankh Maare, Rohit is also very keen for us to do the fifth part of Golmaal. He is currently working on a story that no one of us is aware of. He will end up telling us what are our dates for the shoot, but I think it will be in 2020 when we should probably shoot for it. "
He adds:" I simply cross fingers because it's an excellent franchise. and we all have a good time doing it together. Yes, we want to do the fifth part and we hope that Rohit will soon tell a story and will call us for the shoot.
Rohit created the Golmaal franchise in 2006 with Golmaal: Fun Unlimited, which became one of the biggest comedy blockbusters.With Ajay Devgn in Gopal, Tusshar Kapoor in Lucky, Arshad Warsi in Madhav and Sharman Joshi in Laxman, the title of the movie is a combination of the initials of each character's name.The main male cast continues to remain a constant with some changes in the cast.While Shreyas replaced Sharman Joshi in the second movie as Laxman and continued to be part of the franchise, Kunal Kemmu had joined the series in the third installment – Golmaal 3 in the role of Laxman and also played in Golmaal Again.

While Rimi Sen played the female lead in the original Golmaal movie: Fun Unlimited, Kareena Kapoor performed in Golmaal Returns (2008) and Golmaal 3 (2010). The last and fourth installment Golmaal Again (2007) played the female star of Parineeti Chopra alongside Ajay with a new addition.
