Six new models to watch at Lakme Fashion Week | fashion and trends

Lakme Fashion Week never fails to discover new faces in the industry, and this season will not be different. It will be a dream come true for six budding models, when they will walk for the first time at Winter / Festive 2018 edition of LFW 2018 between August 22-26 at the St Regis Hotel in Mumbai.

LFW hosted a model hunt for the upcoming season on Thursday and a special panel of industry experts chose the six winners. The models are Priti Jana from Kolkata; Rewati Chetri from Assam; Dechka Asthakumar of Bengaluru; Mariana Falaschi from Italy; Sharvi Bhujbal from Bombay and Rishita Koruturu from Hyderabad

These new faces were selected from over 100 aspirants by a jury that included experts from the Indian fashion industry such as the singer and the singer. Actress Sophie Choudry; fashion designer ace Shane Peabad; choreographer of fashion and director of the show, Anu Ahuja; Vice President and Head of Fashion, IMG Reliance – Jaspreet Chandok and Head of Innovation, Lakmé – Ashwath Swaminathan

"We have seen an extremely diverse and eclectic mix of girls – of different shapes and sizes from every corner of the country What was most important to me was a fresh face, personality and confidence on the ramp.

"We found girls who broke the clutter and stood out. I can not wait to see them walk on the ramp this season, "says Sophie.

Ashwath Swaminathan, Innovations Manager at Lakmé, said the turnout at model auditions was excellent and that it was nice to see enthusiasm among all participants.

Jaspreet Chandok, Head of IMG Reliance Fashion added: "Every season, we choose new faces that, in the past, have walked on national and international ramps.We hope the girls selected today will enjoy the same opportunities and can build a flourishing career. "
