The disposable coffee cup that mistakenly appeared in the last episode of Game of Thrones may have disappeared, but it is certainly not forgotten. "Okay, let's clear that up," Turner said, denying she was behind the coffee cup. She then explained that if Lyanna Mormont had an unexpected but tiresome end in the third episode, the mug appeared on the screen in the fourth episode and hinted that the seemingly overwhelming picture was taken before the scene of the coffee cup is turned.
"We all have the same cups for all our water, our tea and all the rest," said Turner. "So, I'm just going to go with – I mean, look who she's in front of, Emilia Clarke, she's the culprit."
Even HBO itself seems to have leaned for the crime. The company issued a joke statement saying: "The latte that appears in the episode was a mistake, Daenerys had ordered an herbal tea."
The problem with Turner's theory, however, is that Game of Thrones like most productions, is not shot chronologically. There is therefore no reason why the scenes of Episode 4 could not have been filmed before the end of Bella Ramsey's movie.
For her part, Clarke attended a Houston Rockets game on Friday. The mascot of the Clutch team bent the knee in front of Khaleesi's court and in his hands? A cup of coffee, of course.
