Director Jon Watts calls "Spider-Man: Away from Home" a "derisory film", and if you've seen it before, you know exactly why. The film uses the collective audience knowledge of the Marvel film universe to present a story that completely disturbs the head.
According to the real motivations of the movie's villain, Quentin Beck (aka Mysterio, played by Jake Gyllenhaal), with surprise cameos, "Far From Home" is a series of quick twists going up to the post credit scene.
And Watts said that the sensation of sleight of hand was rooted in the project since the development phase – which began just weeks after the opening of "Spider-Man: Homecoming" in the rooms in 2017 – because of the nasty movie.
"It was a fundamental concept because that is the whole philosophy of Mysterio," Watts told INSIDER. "When you are dealing with a character who works in the illusion and deception, this will be one of the main themes."
So, Watts intensifies in his scam movies, devoting more time to studying "The Sting" and "The Usual Suspects", and embarks on the narrative of a single film from Marvel, a movie in which almost everything does not seem.
