Spotify is now live in India. After encountering difficulties earlier this week, the Swedish streaming giant has finally expanded its business by adding India as one of the key markets to revive its business. Earlier in the day, Financial Express Tech obtained the Indian price of the Spotify Premium subscription. A few hours later, the Spotify app is available for download via the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store. The web client, as well as stand-alone applications for Windows 10 and macOS, are also available for download. Spotify Premium plans start from Rs 13 in India, offering a day of access to high quality sound and song downloads.

Although Spotify did not say anything officially, its services were activated in India. Users can still see the Spotify website, indicating that it is not available in the area. However, by simply pressing the Spotify Premium button, they will travel to India where they can register themselves and choose a plan to subscribe to Spotify Premium services. Or, they can even take advantage of the free version financed by advertising without paying anything. Spotify has partnered with leading banks, Paytm, for payments. In addition, users can even pay using UPI. It should be noted that recurring members can only be purchased with credit cards (MasterCard or Visa), while subscriptions requiring a one-time payment can be paid with credit cards, Paytm or UPI.

For Indian users, Spotify has reduced Apple music to only 1 for the monthly subscription. The Apple Music monthly fee is Rs.120 in India, which is 1 more than the Spotify subscription. However, Spotify has offered a variety of levels in India, unlike the United States where its monthly subscription costs $ 9.99 – exactly like the monthly Apple Music subscription.

Spotify offers a monthly recurring package priced at Rs 119 – customers will be billed automatically at the end of each cycle. Apart from this, Spotify offers users the choice of subscribing only once to plans that will not happen again. There are five plans:

1 day: 13 rupees (non-recurring)
7 days: 39 rupees (non-recurring)
1 month: 12 rupees (non-recurring)
3 months: 389 Rs ( non-recurrent)
6 months: 719 Rs (non-recurring)

There is a separate plan for students in India, which must be verified before subscribing. The monthly subscription will be charged at Rs 66 but if you buy an annual subscription, it will cost Rs 59 per month, a total of Rs 708 for 12 months.

Spotify India offers an extensive catalog of Indian songs, including Bollywood and Tamil. , Telugu, Bengali, Malayalam, Punjabi and other regional music. International music is also available on Spotify from almost all artists. However, Financial Express Tech has not independently verified the availability of English music on the Indian and American versions.
