Starbucks associates with UberEats in Japan

Starbucks Corp. Wednesday announced its partnership with UberEats for the delivery of coffee and food products to Tokyo from Friday, as the world's largest coffee chain seeks to boost sales in Japan, one of its major markets in Asia-Pacific.

Starbucks has faced intense competition in the United States and China, its two largest markets, and is exploring new avenues to boost sales.

Starbucks announced plans to open 100 new stores a year in Japan, bringing its stores at 1,700 by the end of 2021.

The delivery program with UberEats would be available in three stores in Tokyo, two in Shinjuku and one in Roppongi.
