Singer and actor Sudhanshu Pandey stated that he did not believe in an allegation against his former Band A group member, Karan Oberoi, accused of rape and extortion by a woman.
A complaint was filed with the Mumbai police on Sunday. The charges under Articles 376 (rape) and 384 (extortion) of the Indian Penal Code were slapped against Karan. He was brought before a court that placed him in custody until Thursday.
"I have known Karan Oberoi for almost two decades, we were together in a group, but before we worked together as actors.We are not just friends, we were [19659005] neighbors at some point too, "said Sudhanshu here.
"I know his family very well, his father was a decorated retired army officer, a brigadier and a war hero, his sister is a professional who works here, his brother lives in Abroad Karan was himself in the merchant navy before embarking on this profession
"Karan led a disciplined life. He goes to bed at 9 pm and wakes up around 7 o'clock in the morning. He does not smoke, drink or party. We have seen Karan over the years, and we know that he would never do it … the kind of allegation was brought to him. We do not believe them, and among us, Karan was the most chivalrous, "he added.
