NEW DELHI: Sunil Arora is known to have been named the next chief election commissioner, senior sources at the Ministry of Law said Monday.

Although an official notification announcing his appointment has not yet been published, his name was erased by the Center and sent to Rashtrapati Bhawan, sources said.
