Bollywood comedian Sunny Deol, who was the spokesman for nationalism scathing with films like Gadar, said he was focusing on strong characters, not on patriotism. Speaking at the launch of the trailer for his upcoming film Blank, Sunny said, "Are we all patriots or not? Do we love our mothers, do we love our country or not? Most importantly, it should not be a salable thing. That's how I see it. Every time I shot a movie, I did it because I believed in the character. Blank marks the Bollywood debut of Twinkle Khanna's cousin, Karan Kapadia, who plays the role of a kamikaze in the film.
"I have always made films with strong characters who fight for something and who is also my nature. I go to the end, I'm not a kind of person who gives up. Somehow, people are communicating more with me. It was something salable that we did, but the world has now changed. It's all about marketing and there must be a reason for everything. We all tell stories about what we do and why we do it, "added Sunny.
