NBC shakes up television in the late evening, giving Carson Daly's crack to a colored woman who is a star on YouTube. The channel announced Thursday that a new show, A Little Late with Lilly Singh, would air at 1:35 EDT starting in September.
Singh will be the only woman to host a daily broadcast nightly broadcast in-depth network. His half-hour show will include studio interviews and pre-recorded comedy sketches, NBC said.
In a statement, Singh described the prospect of being an Indo-Canadian woman with her own late-night show "a dream come true." She wrote on Twitter: "It's official. Ya girl gets her own late night show @ nbc … A little late with Lilly Singh. Thank you very much for being here. I am really very grateful.

includes the HBO film Fahrenheit 451, Bad Moms and Ice Age: Collision Course. Singh's YouTube channel, in which she creates humorous and other videos, has more than 14 million subscribers, NBC said.

Last month, Daly said that It was time to end his show Last Call and focus on new projects going on, as the host and producer of NBC's The Voice.
