This is a sequel of mania at Kollywood and the latest is Charlie Chaplin-2 the second installment of Shakthi Chidambaram's comedy drama franchise. The first part of the movie was very entertaining with charming episodes of comedy and organic twists.
Unfortunately, Charlie Chaplin-2 is a real chaos, with its complicated storyline, a totally useless piece number, anti-women dialogues and cheesy humor in the first half. Thanks to the second part of the film that evokes good laughs here and there, it would have been an unbearable sequel in Tamil cinema.

Majnu criticism: Lack of both freshness and engaging narration | Thackeray Review: Aesthetically Presented, Convincing

Knowing the true love of Thiru, Sara agrees to marry her. One day before the wedding, Thiru's friend in Dubai, Raja (Vivek Prasanna), shows her a video of Sara in which she is with another guy. Raja also encourages Thiru to blow up Sara in a video she sent him via WhatsApp. But it was only later that Thiru and her friends discovered that Sara only helped a young man about to commit suicide. Fortunately, Thiru's message has not yet reached Sara's phone because there was no internet connection in her place. Can Thiru get out of this embarrbading situation?
Charlie Chaplin-2 is a film intended for an audience little concerned with logic, quality or a coherent scenario. If you like watching burlesque comedies and laughing with the crowd, that's your kind of movie! As we said earlier, the first half tests our patience with many flaws, including poor lip sync, bad editing, and lame jokes. Fortunately, the second half is better (in the comedy department).
As usual, Prabhu Deva is nice to watch with his dance steps but can not just wear a movie entirely on his shoulders. Nikki Galrani is cute and charming while Adah Sharma is wasted! Prabhu has been touted as a foodie and he is often perceived as a person who attaches more importance to food than to life!
There are many bad jokes about the institution of marriage and the woman. Technically, the film does not offer anything new. The visual quality is below the bar and the editing is also terrible. Many scenes are badociated in CG and it's pathetically obvious. Nowadays even Web series offer better visuals and montages, but movies like Charlie Chaplin-2 hold the public for granted.
The most important question is this: Should we really redo the ] Charlie Chaplin in the first place?
