Tanuja, a veteran Bollywood actor, has been operated on for diverticulitis and is doing well, says a hospital source. Tanuja, 75, was admitted Wednesday to Lilavati Hospital, based in the city.
An insider told PTI that she would remain hospitalized for "at least a week". Diverticulitis is a condition that causes inflammation or infection of small pockets called diverticula that develop along the walls of the intestine.
The actor Kajol, the daughter of Tanuja, was also seen visiting him at the hospital.The news of the hospitalization of the actor was announced two days after the death of Kajol's father-in-law, Veeru Devgan, director of the action.

On Monday, Veeru Devgan, the popular director of action films such as Roti Kapda Aur Makaan and Mr. Natwarlal, and the father of actor Ajay Devgn, died Monday in Mumbai. He was 77 years old.
