Posters for the upcoming movie The Tashkent Files were unveiled Friday. The first poster featured veteran actor Mithun Chakraborty, who will play Shyam Sundar Tripathi in the thriller. Taran Adarsh, a film critic and trade badyst, wrote that the trailer for the film would air on March 25.

During the day, Taran shared posters of actors Shweta Basu Prasad, Pankaj Tripathi and Pallavi Joshi, and on Saturday he shared a poster depicting Naseeruddin Shah.

Pankaj will be seen in the role of Gangaram Jha and Pallavi will be seen as Aiysha Ali Shah. Naseeruddin will play a character called PKR Natrajan. The records of Tashkent would be based on the mysterious circumstances surrounding the death of former Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri
The film is directed by Vivek Agnihotri who directed films like Chocolate and Buddha in a traffic jam. Tashkent Files is expected to be released on April 12, 2019. The film also features Vinay Pathak, Mandira Bedi and Ankur Rathee.
