The creators of Sarkar released the film's first teaser on Friday, October 19, at the Vijayadashami festival. This roadmap for promotions of the film before its release on November 6.

According to some reports, the character of Vijay would be inspired by Sundar Pichai, the CEO of Google. The film is about a man belonging to a company that launches into politics. The character of Thalapathy has negative nuances, said the director AR Murugadoss in an interview.
