A new report ranks the healthiest – and the least healthy. Hawaii regained the healthiest state title in 2018, after falling to second place in 2017. The other exceptionally healthy states are Mbadachusetts, Connecticut, Vermont and Utah. Tennessee is one of the least healthy states.
At the bottom of the list, Louisiana ranks 50th this year, replacing Mississippi as the state with the greatest health challenges.
UnitedHealth Group has been published annually since 1990. To calculate the ranking, researchers used 35 health measures in the following categories: behavior, community and environment, policy, clinical care, and health outcomes.
