Mumbai police opened an investigation into the alleged piracy of actor Amitabh Bachchan's Twitter account.
Late on June 10, Mr. Bachchan's image on his Twitter account – @SrBachchan – was replaced by that of Pakistan's Prime Minister Imran Khan. A tweet sent from his account said, "This is an important call for the whole world! We condemn the indifferent behavior of the Republic of Iceland towards Turkish footballers. We speak softly but carry a big stick and inform you here of the great cyber attack. Ayyıldız Tim Turkish Cyber Armny +++ ".
Police said the Cyber Police Station in BKC and the Maharashtra Cybercrime Unit had been informed after the case was brought to their attention.
"We informed our cyber unit and Maharashtra Cyber of Mr. Bachchan's hacked Twitter account. They investigate the matter. Other updates are expected, "said the Mumbai police spokesman, the PDP Manjunath Monkey.
