Mi A2 Lite from Xiaomi is part of the Android One program and was launched this summer under Android 8.1 Oreo, but a beta version of Android 9 Pie was made available by the company a few weeks ago.
This has not been a big problem, as the stable update of Pie is currently deployed on some Mi A2 Lite units in the wild. XDA Developers reports that a user in Poland has shared screen captures proving that he got the update, and you can see them below.

The updated Android 9 Pie for the Mi A2 Lite is available for download in 1 GB., As well as recommended applications and actions depending on your context. Of course, since it is Android One, you can also expect all the other improvements announced by Google. In addition, you get the security patch level of November 5, 2018.
It is not clear at the moment if the update is coming out in all markets where the Mi A2 Lite is offered, but even if it is not, we badume that it is only a matter of time before it reaches each of the existing units.
