The bad guys who could replace Thanos in the MCU

So, if it's not Apocalypse, then why not the mutant villain, even older than him? Maybe Selene is the best option for the MCU.

Selene is a mutant millennial vampire who feeds on the psychic life force of others. This has allowed her to survive in the present and makes her an almost unstoppable enemy when she is under tension. She fought the X-Men alone and as a member of the Hellfire Club. Given her connections to the supernatural world, she is a villain with a unique ability to unite the X-Men, Avengers and Doctor Strange in a mbadive conflict. The MCU could even make its own decision on the crossing Necrosha, where Selene resurrects dead mutants to try to turn into a goddess. This could be a way to bring back in the form of zombies the favorite heroes of deceased fans.

Selene's backstory also offers interesting possibilities in terms of exploring the prehistoric past of the MCU. She actually has tangential links with Conan the barbarian! If Marvel Studios ever got the rights to the Conan franchise (as Marvel Comics recently did), Selene would be the perfect villain for a movie in partnership with Conan / Avengers.

Kang the Conqueror

This powerful villain is infamous for having flavored the weather himself. He travels freely between the past and the future and manipulates the course of human history on his behalf. He reigned in ancient Egypt as a god and dominated the distant future as an almighty tyrant. And no matter how many times Kang is defeated and apparently killed, his mastery of time means that there is always another version of him to hit the Avengers when they least expect him.

The events of the Endgame could easily serve as a catalyst for Kang's beginnings. its history of origin. When a young Kang sees how the Avengers have been able to manipulate time to reach an impossible goal, he is inspired to do the same. Or maybe Kang has always been hidden behind the scenes of the MCU and the actions of the Avengers allow him to feel threatened enough to finally reveal himself. The events in Endgame may be time-breaking itself, leaving Kang an opportunity to deal with his misdeeds on an even bigger scale.

Kang makes sense as a supreme brain villain considering his connections with various Marvel franchises. He has links with Avengers, Fantastic Four, Inhumans and X-Men. And given all the evidence that Marvel is slowly getting ready early in the Young Avengers, Kang would be an ideal enemy for this team.
