INDORE: BJP President Amit Shah said on Monday that his party was convinced of the upcoming construction of a large Ram Temple in Ayodhya and accused Congress of putting obstacles in its construction.

He stated that the dispute over the title of Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid was pending before the Supreme Court and that it remained to be seen what was happening there.

"Everyone wants the upcoming construction of a Ram Temple in Ayodhya, and we also hope for the next construction of a large Ram Temple," Shah said.

The BJP leader met with journalists on the sidelines of his roadshow on the final day of campaigning for the Nov. 28 legislative elections in Madhya Pradesh.

He alleged that Congress was putting obstacles to the construction of a Ram temple in Ayodhya.

Shah said, "The Supreme Court has postponed the hearing to January, let's see what happens in January, whether the Center plans to make an order or to adopt a law to allow the construction of the temple. "

Last month, the Supreme Court had declared that a "competent court" would decide in the first week of January the timing of the hearing on the land dispute Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid.

In another question, Shah said he was confident that the BJP would sweep the polls of the Madhya Pradesh badembly for the fourth consecutive time.
