Test images do not reveal much about design, but it is visible that the new Mahindra Scorpio has grown. The Scorpio SUV has been on sale for 2 years and is currently one of the most popular models on the market today. The next-generation Mahindra Scorpio will be larger, more spacious, more luxurious, and feature more features than the current model.
The Next generation Mahindra Scorpio is expected to be unveiled at the 2020 Delhi Auto Expo. It will likely go on sale in the second half of 2020. To build on the updated version of the current GEN3 platform, the 2007 Mahindra Scorpio will be longer than the existing car. The rendering also suggests that the next model will have an extended rear overhang. The rendering has strong full-length belt lines, while larger wheel arches with new alloys give it a muscular design.
The frontal fairing of the next generation of Mahindra Scorpio is likely to receive a newly developed grille with similarities to . Mahindra XUV300 and the new optical unit with LED daytime running lights. At the back, the SUV will have new LED taillights, a roof-mounted spoiler and a new bumper with skid plates. The cabin will be brand new and will benefit from modern features such as touch screen, automatic air conditioning and so on. The vehicle will also be oriented to the third row of seats.
The new Mahindra Scorpio will receive the new 2.0-liter turbocharged diesel engine, which will also power the next Thar and XUV500 in different sound states. For Scorpio, this powertrain could be tuned to produce around 160 hp and 350 Nm of torque. Manual and automatic versions will probably be offered, while the AWD system will be limited to the higher variant. The SUV is also likely to receive a supercharged gasoline engine.
