Superstar Salman Khan had the intention to convey a message on water conservation with his bottle challenge, but this led people to question his religious beliefs .

On Sunday, Salman shared his version of the #BottleCapChallenge, which talks about people inventing inventive methods to unscrew a bottle cap. Instead of kicking the hat, Salman blew the bottle cap already loosened and drank water, ending the video saying "Paani Bachao (Save Water)".

While fans of the Bollywood superstar praised her act, part of the video drew the attention of part of the population.

Salman begins the video with the gesture of joined hands, as he prayed, then raises his hands for prayer and ends with a gesture of Holy Cross.

This was enough for social media users to question his religious beliefs.

A user wrote: "Salman Khan, are you Muslim or Christian?", While another wrote: "First, he made a namaste, then a sign of the cross then a sign of the cross, believes in all religions ".

Yet another user wrote, "What religion do you believe in? Decide."

In the past, Salman claimed that he did not believe in the possibility of judging people based on their origin or religion, and added that he believed in sending from a message: "We are all human beings and should live in harmony".
