Khatija, daughter of music master AR Rahman, said her father had not forced her to cover her face with a niqab (veil) and that it was his own decision. "I am a healthy and mature adult who knows how to make my choices in life. Every human being has the choice to wear or do what he / she wants and that's what I did, "she said in a Facebook message.
"I would like to say that the outfit I wear or the choices I make in my life have nothing to do with my parents. The veil was my personal choice with complete acceptance and honor, "she said.
