The toll of a suicide bombing in southwestern Pakistan has dropped to 149, making it the second most deadly attack in the country's history, according to authorities.

This group was the latest in a series of deadly attacks during various election campaigns prior to the July 25 national elections.

A suicide bomber exploded as local politician Siraj Raisani addressed a crowd of supporters in southwestern Mastung district on Friday. Raisani was among those who were killed.

The latest badessment was that of a 2007 bombing in Karachi against former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, which killed 139 people.

The worst attack of the country was the attack of a school in the city of Peshawar. Monday, more than 150 people died.

Authorities on Monday published ads in local newspapers seeking information on bodies brought directly home after the latest attack and buried without informing the police. (d, s, id) {
