PUNE: Meteorological officials at the Department of Metrology of India (IMD), who had predicted a delay of five to six days for the arrival of the Southwest monsoon, said conditions could become favorable for the continuation of the monsoon from 29 to 30 May in other parts of southern Bengal Bay, the Andaman Islands and the northern Andaman Sea.

"Given the current weather conditions, we believe that the southwestern monsoon will arrive according to our forecasts," said an IMD official.
"The west winds are slowly stabilizing in the Bay of Bengal and the depth of the westerly winds in the heights is expected soon. In addition, a transequatorial flow is also developing. All of this will improve the progression of the monsoon current, "said Anupam Kashyapi, head of the forecast division at IMD-Pune.

"Pune and its neighboring regions are not in the throes of a heat wave. The maximum temperature gradually becomes normal. Over the next four to five days, it will likely be between 37 and 38 ° C. The minimum temperature will be between 23 ° C and 24 ° C, "said Kashyapi.
This change of weather is due to the fact that the heat wave in Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada has decreased in recent days. However, areas adjacent to Parbhani still suffer from the heatwave.
"In the Vidarbha region, the heat wave persists in some places. Some isolated areas have even experienced strong heat waves, which should shrink as early as Tuesday, "said an official of the IMD.
The Met official said that the level of humidity on Madhya Maharashtra and Pune was slowly increasing.
"Pune has recorded a rise of about 8 to 10% in relative humidity (RH) in recent days. Winds blow in Madhya Maharashtra, Pune and adjacent areas across Gujarat and southern Rajasthan. These winds will help reduce the maximum temperature, "he added.
