The Election Commission had sent a notification to the film makers following a meeting with a congressional delegation, which called for the ban on its broadcast before Lok Sabha's poll.
New Delhi: The Indian Electoral Commission does not ban the release of the film "Prime Minister Narendra Modi" for violation of the standard code of conduct, sources told the commission. The commission said that the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) was the competent authority to make a decision on this matter.
"Prime Minister Narendra Modi", led by Omung Kumar, is due to be released on April 5, a week before India votes first phase of elections in Lok Sabha.
However, the official decision on the postponement of the film or its referral to the CBFC has not yet been announced by the EC.
