Rajinikanth's upcoming superstar film with director AR Murugadoss was titled Darbar and its directors unveiled the first poster of the look on Tuesday. The project will go on sale in Mumbai from Wednesday.

Murugadoss asked Twitter to publish the poster. He wrote, "Here are the guys. The first look of our own Thalaivar at Darbar. He also confirmed that the film would be screened during the Pongal festival next year.

Based on the poster, it is evident that Rajinikanth plays a cop and that history will have a Mumbai background. Murugadoss then revealed that Nayanthara was also part of the project. National Editor Sreekar Prasad is also part of the project. The film will also be dubbed and published in Hindi and Telugu.

Not so long ago, the famous Santosh Sivan goal was sent to Twitter to announce that he had signed the project. He finds Rajinikanth two years after their last collaboration in Thalapathy. Satosh, who shared the news, had written, "Finally, I am delighted to be working with Rajini Sir after Thalapathy." In February, Anirudh Ravichander confirmed through an interview that he was participating in the project as a composer .

Originally, the film was supposed to be funded by Sun Pictures, which withdrew after the recent controversy over Sarkar. However, Lyca Productions, the makers of version 2.0, replaced them and took over the reins of the project. This would be the third release for Lyca Productions with Rajinikanth after Kaala and 2.0.
