They are undoubtedly one of the most popular names on the WWE circuit. On the sidelines of his recent visit to Mumbai, YOU met American wrestlers Big E, Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston to discover their love for Indian cuisine, Bollywood movies and more. excerpts:
You were recently in India. How did your trip go?
Big E: Our trip to India is always great. We love Bollywood and watch Hindi movies coming out, as we aspire to work in a Bollywood movie. In India, we watched Gully Boy.
Xavier: It was cool to see Bollywood in the genre (rap). We are big fans of hip-hop, so we liked it.
Kofi: We met actors Siddhant Chaturvedi and Vijay Verma, who played in the film. It was awesome. They are big fans of the WWE.
Are your acting aspirations coming from the fact that you are so theatrical about your performance and how you behave yourself?
Xavier: Yes, definitely. We are always looking for new opportunities and new activities. And I think being a WWE superstar prepares you to do things like that. And if this opportunity presents itself, we will certainly do it.
Do you think the struggle has a good future in India?
Big E: The future of the fight in India is incredible. Being in India for the first try of the WWE and that there were 80 talents, including 20 women, was amazing. We already have Kavita Devi, which is part of the WWE, and I think it will pave the way for more Indian women and men.
As a trio, you present a cheerful image, but how does this contribute to the aggression on the ring?
Kofi: It's not really aggression. WWE stands for World Wrestling Entertainment, and the most important word in this acronym is entertainment. So, if you are able to entertain, that's all that matters. People lead the series with a smile. We are definitely planning to go out there and fight and have great matches. Moreover, with us, we are different. With a lot of people, it's one or the other. People are good at the theater or good wrestlers – we are good at both. Entertain us; we are excellent performers in the ring and great speakers at the mic.
During your stay in India, did you drink Indian food?
Big E: Two years ago, when we were in Mumbai, the best meal we had ever had was there. We find dal, naan with garlic and butter chicken, amazing.
Have you brought home recipes?
Kofi: Yes, dosa. We like pancakes and the dosa looks like this.
