We have heard rumors that Samsung will place the fingerprint scanner under the screen since the development stage of the Galaxy S8. When that did not happen, speculation suggested that the Galaxy S9 would finally have it, but we now have some confirmation that the Galaxy S10 will ship with the sensor under the OLED panel.
Samsung Pay source code
The source code of the Samsung Pay app was dissected by XDA-Developers and it was indicated "FP integrated scanner". Apparently, when you choose to pay through the native application, the dialog box asking you what kind of security you will use, the PIN or the scanner, will move slightly upward to make room for the finger to scan, when the latter option is chosen. At the moment, the variants are the PIN or Iris scanner, but we already know that Samsung will omit the infrared sensor of the Galaxy S10.

All the supposed variants of the Galaxy S10 share the same code name, which means that it is not clear if all units will have UD fingerprint scanner. We anticipate that three S10 family phones will be introduced on February 20th, with the base unit likely entering with a side-mounted sensor. The Galaxy S10 vanilla and the Galaxy S10 + should be equipped with on-screen scanners, but Samsung may have something in its sleeve and we have to wait for the Unpacked event to see what will be officially presented .
