Mumbai: Nick Jonas is expected to join Priyanka Chopra in the exotic islands of Andaman and Nicobar when the actress travels there in February for the filming of The Sky Is Pink.

Nick is a US citizen and, in some islands, he is not allowed by the Restricted Area Permit (RPA), but foreigners are not allowed.

"There was a bit of tension when the American John Allen Chau was killed by the local Sentinel tribe over there last year. However, the local government that raised the HBP for some islands in the region is keen to promote the Union's territory for tourism. They allowed filming to take place and foreigners to visit the island. There are also other members of the team who are not Indian, "said one source.

The last time a Bollywood film was shot in the Andaman Islands and Nicobar was the Kaalapani (1996), a bilingual film starring Mohanlal, Prabhu Ganesan, Tabu and Amrish Puri. Shonali Bose's The Sky is Pink with Priyanka Chopra, Farhan Akhtar and Zaira Wasim will be Bollywood's first full-fledged film shot in the protected islands of the Union's territory.

"Much of the film has already been shot in London, New Delhi and Mumbai. In a few days, Priyanka will fly to the islands for filming, "says a commercial source. The patchwork of the film will be completed in Mumbai.
