Just as a deadliest terrorist attack against the Indian Army, in February On 14 July 2019, a convoy of vehicles carrying security personnel on the Jammu Srinagar highway was attacked by a suicide bomber driven by a vehicle in Lethpora, Pulwama District. The attack resulted in the death of 40 members of the Central Reserve Police Force and the attacker. The responsibility for the attack was claimed by Islamist militant group Jaish-e-Mohammed based in Pakistan. Adil Ahmed Dar, a youth from the area, has been identified as the attacker.
