The last season of Game Of Thrones: a definitive list of all who have lived or died

[ad_1]

Our watch is over and now begins my tour of shame. The eighth and final season of Game of Thrones is over and the final count of deaths has been recorded (Valar Morghulis). We started the season with so many characters. Some died, but others lived – frankly, much more than I expected.

Last year, I published this video and this article proudly declaring that I knew who would survive or perish during the last Game of Thrones season. Oh, what a sweet summer child I turned out to be. There were a few expected deaths, as well as some twists – some of which, I really should have trusted my instincts, hello Daenerys Breaking Bad Targaryen!

Fortunately, the famous hall of io9 is now Faces, that is to say that white board on which I pasted a bunch of faces of characters, survived the year and just waiting for me to make a correct and accurate shipment. Let's start. Shame. Shame. Shame.

Daenerys Targaryen

Predicts: Alive | In fact: Dead (fake)

Destiny: She broke the bad, the people. She broke the bad hard . I had the feeling that it would happen, but I allowed my idiotic dreams of Disney to disturb my judgment.

Jon Snow

Predicts: Alive | In fact: Alive (right)

Destiny: He killed Daenerys Targaryen for the aforementioned evil and was sent to Castle Black to live the rest of his life. his sad solitary days. But the series ended with his trip north of the wall with the wildlings. It is possible that he comes alone to leave Westonos.

Ghost

Predicts: Had not predicted | In fact: Alive (Wrong)

Destiny: I have not not planned the fate of the animals, but I was wrong. Absolutely wrong. I should have known that Ghost would be important to the Battle of Winterfell. At least he had his pets.

Sansa Stark

Prediction: Alive | In fact: Alive (right)

Destiny : Queen in the North, suckers.

Bran Stark

Predicts: Death | In fact: Alive (Wrong)

Destiny: I thought that embracing one's fate as a three-eyed crow would mean that it would become immortal and turn into a god of love. tree. But in reality, it means becoming the king of the Six Kingdoms. Torsion?

Arya Stark

Predicts: Death | In fact: Alive (Wrong)

Destiny: She makes an epic journey on the road and I wish her good luck.

Rhaegal

Predicts: did not predict it | In fact: Dead (Wrong)

Fate: I did not think any of the other Daenerys dragons would die, but it was enough for a giant crossbow to defeat Rheagal. Drogon survived, however.

The Iron Throne

Predicts: Did not Predict | In fact: Death (bad)

Destiny: The worst enemy of Drogon! It was a soft melting action.

Cersei Lannister

Predicted: Dead | In fact: Dead (right)

Destiny: It turns out that the most dangerous thing for a queen is falling rocks.

Jaime Lannister

Predicts: Death | In fact: Dead (right)

Destiny: See above

Tyrion Lannister

Predicts: Alive | In fact: Alive (right)

Destiny: When you are Tyrion Lannister, you can do anything … including choosing the new Westeros rule, handcuffed. Tyrion is now the reluctant hand of the king, always destined to move chairs and never finish this joke about this time he entered a brothel.

Theon Greyjoy

Predicts: Death | In fact: Dead (right)

Destiny: He sacrificed himself for the good of his family and his home and died as a hero.

Yara Greyjoy

Predicts: Death | In fact: Alive (Wrong)

Destiny: She is now the Lady of the Iron Islands, serving King Brandon the Broken – although I'm sure that she and this new prince Dornish's give the Set of Six Kingdoms an eye aside, now that Sansa has made the North independent without problems.

Brienne of Tarth

Predicts: Death | In fact: Alive (Wrong)

Destiny: This one was the biggest surprise for me. After being knighted by Jaime Lannister, I swore it meant that she was going to die during the Battle of Winterfell. But instead, she runs the Kingsguard and sits on the small board. That said, of all the people in the series who have surprisingly survived, it's the one that makes me happiest. Nobody deserves more joy than Brienne.

Podrick Payne

Predicts: Alive | In fact: Alive (right)

Fate: A bad like that of Podrick could not be lost.

Samwell Tarly

Predicts: Alive | In fact: Alive (right)

Fate: Apparently he is now the lord of Horn Hill – even though he swore to swear in Night Watch and that unlike Jon Snow, he's not dead to be able to get outside of that. I guess King Bran has the ability to swear at someone, so he can now sit on the little board and write books with ridiculously sharp headlines.

Gilly

Predicts: Alive | In fact: Alive (right)

Destiny: She is happy with Samwell and pregnant with their child.

Little Sam

Predicts: Obviously alive | In fact: Obviously Alive (right)

Fate: We had enough of the dead Craster Baby in this series, monsters.

Lyanna Mormont

Predicts: Alive | In fact: Dead (bad)

Destiny: She may have died while heroically defeating an undead giant during the battle of Winterfell, but Lyanna Mormont, the queen of bears is still alive and thrives in my fanfic. And no, you can not read it.

Yohn Royce

Predicts: Death | Status: alive ?! (Bad)

Fate: Of course, this guy. Why not.

Jorah Mormont

Predicts: Death | In fact: Dead (right)

Destiny: Jorah Mormont is immolated to save Daenerys during the White Walker invasion. That's what his life was all about and it was a heroic death for one of the most complex characters in the show.

Davos Seaworth

Predicts: Alive | Status: In life (right)

Destiny: He also sits on the small council. Davos lived. I called him.

The Hound

Predict: Dead | In fact: Dead (right)

Destiny: CLEGANBOOOOOOOOOOWL.

Tormund Giantsbane

Predicts: Dead | In fact: Alive (Wrong)

Destiny: He survived – basically, he survived – and now heads north of the wall with Jon and the other wildlings. He had to say goodbye to Ser Brienne, but I'm sure he'll be fine.

Gendry

Predicts: Alive | In fact: Alive (right)

Destiny: Daenerys named Gendry Baratheon as the rightful heir to Robert Baratheon and the new Lord of Storm's End because she felt like it. Even if she is no longer queen, because of the whole thing that is dead, apparently this one sticks. Bran is cool with that, I guess.

Bronn

Predicts: Death | In fact: Alive (fake)

Destiny: I loved Bronn, most of us. But it was useless during the last season. I walked with a crossbow and then … that's all. He is now part of the little council, trying to get money for brothels while being a gigantic doofus.

Varys

Predicts: Alive | In fact: Death (bad)

Destiny: I refuse to believe that Varys was killed by the fire of Drogon's dragon for betraying Daenerys. Varys lives in the space between spaces. You can not kill someone who does not exist.

Ellaria Sand

Predicted: Alive (For All We Know) | In fact: Probably dead (right?)

Destiny: Well, if Ellaria had not died before the bag of King's Landing, she would surely be dead now. Nobody bothered to watch her.

Edmure Tully

Predicts: Death (for all we know) | In fact: Alive (fake)

Destiny: He was brought back to be the target of a joke. Thank you show.

Gray worm

Predicts: Death | In fact: Alive (Wrong)

Destiny: After having lost everything for which he had worked so much, including the love of his life, he decided to go to Naath to visit the country. origin of Missandei. Too bad that it probably kills him in less than an hour. In the books, Naath is deadly to strangers because of a species of toxic butterfly.

Missandei

Predicts: Alive | In fact: Dead (Wrong)

Destiny: She was knocked down so that Daenerys was upset enough to blow up King's Landing. Doing this to the only black actress in the series was a mistake.

Daario Naharis

Predicts: Death | Actually: ??? (???)

Destiny: Once Daenerys left Essos, no one was more important.

Jaqen H'ghar

Predicts: Alive | Actually: ??? (???)

Destiny: I guess it could be anyone, technically.

Meera Reed

Predicts: Alive | Actually: ??? (???)

Destiny: This was another big mistake, never giving away to what happened to Meera Reed after leaving Winterfell. I even made the mistake myself by not mentioning it in my discussion of all the issues Game of Thrones would never answer. Another dose of shame for me, please.

Hot Pie

Predict: Dead | Actually: ??? (???)

Destiny: Damn, there are many characters that the series has ceased to interest. Yohn Royce was more important than Hot Pie? Really?

Grandmaester Ebrose

Prediction: Alive | In fact: Alive (right)

Destiny: Still cooling down in one of the safest places in the world.

Beric Dondarrion

Predicts: Death | In fact: Death (right)

Destiny: He knew that his destiny was to die in the service of the Lord of Light, thus helping to put an end to darkness. By sacrificing himself to help Arya Stark escape, he did exactly what he was supposed to do.

Melisandre

Predicts: Death | In fact: Dead (right)

Fate : She used her magic to fight the White Walkers and found peace to finally do what was good, go off and die at early morning .

Euron Greyjoy

Predicts: Death | In fact: Dead (right)

Destiny: He baded the queen and died for her.

The Mountain

Prediction: Double Dead | In fact: Double Dead (19659014) Cause: CLEGANBOOOOOOOOOOWL.

Qyburn

Predicts: Death | In fact: Dead (right)

Destiny: My God, this death was so satisfying. The mountain was like, "Out of my way, I have things to do."

The White Walkers

Predicts: both alive and dead | In fact: dead (bad?)

Destiny: Hey buddy, there is someone behind you.

And, the biggest surprise "lives or dies" of the episode …

Robin Arryn

Predicts: Nobody cares | In fact: Everybody Cares (Dead Wrong)

Destiny: Damn
