In Spain, where the crew films the Dragonpit scene (where the Tyrion trial takes place and where Bran royalty is conferred), Kit Harington (on set only as a lure, along with some other members of the cast) arrives at a hotel in Seville. To spectators calling "Keet, Keet", Harington waved his hand and kisses before heading inland. Furdik, taking a cigarette break, wonders how surreal he must be, to receive as much attention and adulation on a daily basis. Then he goes to the crowd and asks if they recognize him. As fans pose for him and ask him to sign posters, Furdik raises his arms as an iconic sign of the king of the night who resurrects the dead and the crowd cheers and performs the same action.

Back in the studio in Belfast, he turns his last scene: falling from the back of Viserion during the Battle of Winterfell. In the green room, removing his makeup and his prosthetic costume and finding his usual avatar, he looks at the camera and says, emotions under control, "Back to normal."

Back to normal.

C & # 39 is a feeling the actor Andrew (Andy) McClay – who is an extra of the series for several seasons (playing the soldier Aberdale Strongbeard) expresses himself after his last stroke.Depositing his sword and removing his armor after being part of Jon Snow's "guard of honor" – among the few Stark soldiers who nearly embarked on a skirmish with Unsullied, while Jon protests against the execution of Lannister's prisoners by Gray Worm – McClay hesitates, "Let's go back to normal life now.

Fans of Game of Thrones – with an average of 43 million tunings for each episode of this movie. have probably been feeling the same for about a week now. "The Iron Throne" was aired May 19-20, closing the story of the characters we had been following since 2011 – and a world that was a surprisingly realized vision of George R lyrics R Martin The Last Watch shows you how these people who worked to realize this vision and what it meant to say goodbye.

While some of the big stars – Kit Harington, Emilia Clarke, director David Nutter, executive producer Bernadette Caulfield – for the most part, these are the almost invisible gears of the wheel on which The Last Watch focuses. The artistic department, the hairdressing and make-up teams, the prosthesis team, the localization manager who ensures that everything is in the right place at the right time, the "snow chief" responsible for directing the use the sneakiest paper of water to give the North its winter atmosphere, the caterers that feed this nourished and caffeinated floating population.

Along the way, we see how the crew builds a set of King's Landing in seven months, but it is destroyed by "dragonfire". "in two days according to the requirements of the script. We see an army of extras play their sequences against a big green screen and work more than 55 nights to turn the battle of Winterfell. The charred bodies, torn heads, gruesome wounds are all created in the most realistic way possible, and lively discussions take place on whether a particular costume will cut off one of the hands of the extras (as needed) during A particular scene, or if the weights of the Winterfell crypts seem mummified enough, meanwhile, some horses have a pink dye on them (fake blood from the previous night that could not be washed). the day (or night) is devoted to the shooting of Game of Thrones .

Most of The Last Watch takes place around Titanic Studios in Belfast, Ireland C & # 39 This is where much of the filming of Game of Thrones' Season 8 takes place, although there are very brief incursions into Dubrovnik, Croatia (which usually serves as King & # 39; s Landing), in Seville, Spain (for the Dragonpit scene) and Iceland (far north / beyond the wall). In addition to Titanic Studios, there is Magheramorne Quarry, where the Battle of Winterfell was filmed, as well as other major battle sequences like Blackwater Bay, Hardhome. And another place nearby, for all Black Castle.

At Titanic Studios, we enjoy all the benefits of behind-the-scenes processing. Bernadette Caulfield and the other producers sit in tiny offices and study endless flowcharts and matching schedules that allow them to keep track of what is. It is here that we see the actors sit for the reading of the scenario of season 8 with the animators Benioff and Weiss. Bryan Cogman, producer: the death of Jorah Mormont (Iain Glen remains stoic in this part), Arya killing the king of the night (there is a crowd of cheers around the table), the execution of Varys (Consleth Hill consoles Lena Headey in tears) and Kit Harington breaks down when the scene where Jon Snow murders Daenerys Targaryen is read. There is even a little back-and-forth at the time when there were many more actors in the room during the very first script reading: Jason Momoa and Richard Madden and all the others who were interrupted along the way.

On the first day of shooting, Emilia Clarke is ready for her wig at 4 am Jorah Mormont presents to Sam in the Winterfell Library. Daenerys discovers that his father and brother have both been executed after the Battle of the Goldroad.

On other days, other scenes are filmed. . The actors are guided through their pieces; and all the while, this ceaseless and seamless machinery is moving, magically shaping what we see on the screen.

At one point we heard a member of the crew explain the magnitude of the task: she emphasizes each episode "It's as much work as a feature film – but with much less time and money.

Lost in the spectacle of what is happening on the screen, it's easy to forget what it took to get there. The Last Watch highlights the organized chaos in the making of a television series of this magnitude. It raises so many human stories – domestic and health problems or hard-to-identify existences or crises that people who worked on Game of Thrones have left their shoulders aside to be able to continue to do their work.

does not always feel like the best defined or most narrated visual experience, but The Last Watch certainly humanizes the Game of Thrones experiment . In choosing the stories that he showcases, it's as much of a deserved hero as an Andy McClay as a Harington / Emilia Clarke Kit or David Nutter's or from his badistant Patrick Strapazon, or from Bernie Caulfield.

The Last Watch attempts to capture what Game of Thrones wanted so many people all over the world and what a work of love for those who contributed to its creation. It also highlights the uniqueness of this experience, something that everyone knows perfectly. You can tell how happy they are all about being part of this project and how bitterly sweet it is. How much they grew up How difficult it will be to move forward.

At the end of the credits, we see Andy McClay conducting a Game of Thrones tour in Belfast, stating the places of interest and the scenes to which they correspond. With him, a large number of fans, many of whom wear t-shirts with the logo of the series. They are here for their pilgrimage of pop culture.

It may be time to "get back to normal", but backtracking from time to time can not hurt.
