The President of the Punjab State Commission for Women, Manisha Gulati, today reported receiving threatening calls and abusive messages on social media after filing a complaint against rapper Honey Singh for using obscene lyrics in her book.

A complaint was filed against Honey Singh and music producer Bhushan Kumar by the Punjab police for using vulgar words in a song, "Makhna".

"I received threatening calls and abusive messages from me." Ms. Gulati told reporters in Chandigarh that her Twitter account had filed a lawsuit against Yo Yo Honey Singh.
