NEW DELHI: On Sunday, political figures, India Inc. and Bollywood, visited the St Regis Hotel in Mumbai for a wedding in Thackeray. Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) President Raj Thackeray was the host of the Lower Parel Hotel, his eldest son, Amit, badociated with fashion designer Mitali Borude.

The lavish affair saw a traditional Maharashtrian wedding celebrated during the day at the hotel. The evening was a starry celebration that saw clubs from various areas blessing newlyweds.

Uddhav Thackeray, a member of the family, was one of the first to attend the wedding rituals. Uddhav, who is also president of Shiv Sena and Raj's first cousin, came with his wife and son to bless the couple. Other political participants included Nitin Gadkari, a Maharashtrian Minister and Union Minister, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, NCP leader Ajit Pawar, and the former chief of staff. State, Ashok Chavan.

The personalities of India Inc present at the reception included Ratan Tata, Anand Mahindra and Mukesh Ambani with his wife Nita. Bollywood was represented by Amitabh Bachchan, Jeetendra, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Randhir Kapoor, Urmila Matondkar, Supriya and Sachin Pilgaonkar, Sonali Kulkarni, Mahesh Manjrekar, Sunil Shetty and Siddharth Jadhav, among others. Sachin Tendulkar and his wife Anjali were also present.

Babasaheb Purandare, renowned historian and winner of the Padma Vibhushan Award, was also seen at the event.

Amit and Mitali, who became friends, became engaged in December 2017 after a long court.

Family members and close friends attended their private engagement ceremony, which was held at Raj Thackeray's residence, "Krishna Kunj", in Dadar.

Mitali is the daughter of the renowned pediatrician, Dr. Sanjay Borude. Fashion designer herself, she launched her own brand with Amit's sister, Urvashi Thackeray.
