Sanju will become a milestone in Ranbir Kapoor's career. Rajkumar Hirani's film is well underway at the box office one week after its release and should enter the record books. The collection of the Sanju Box Office is Rs 186.41 crore until Wednesday and it is expected to enter Rs 200-crore club with its Thursday winnings. It's a record for Ranbir that has not yet scored the double century despite an illustrious filmography. Even director Rajkumar Hirani, who has delivered hits such as PK and 3 Idiots, is about to acquire new BO discs.
With Ranbir Kapoor in the lead role, Sanju is based on the life of Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt. She also tweeted that it is Ranbir's fourth film to score more than Rs 100-crore mark and the first which will reach Rs 200- crore club.

Sanju made an opening collection of Rs 34.75 crore which climbed further Saturday to Rs 38.60 crore. The collections saw an important leap Sunday of Rs 47.71 crore. It has also become the fourth highest collection for a Monday. While Baahubali 2 tops the list with the Rs 40 crore Monday collection, Krrish 3 by Hrithik Roshan (2013) won 35.91 crores. However, the Hrithik-starrer was a vacation release. On non-holiday Mondays, Dangal collected 25.48 crores of rupees while Sanju earned Monday 25.35 crore of Rs.
The film is also the biggest opener and the first weekend of the quarries of Ranbir and Hirani. Besharam (2013) made an opening collection of Rs 21.56 crore and was the best date of Ranbir while PK Hirani has an opening collection of Rs Rs 25.45 crore.
While Ranbir plays Sanjay, Paresh Rawal The role of Sunil Dutt and Manisha Koirala plays Sanjay's mother, Nargis. The film also stars Sonam Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, Dia Mirza, Vicky Kaushal and Jim Sarbh, among others.
