MUMBAI: Two Bollywood parolians, Javed Akhtar and Sameer, said Friday they were "shocked" to find their name in the opening credits of a forthcoming film about Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Both have denied writing songs for the film, which is scheduled for release on April 5th.

The film trailer, titled "PM Narendra Modi" and produced by actor Suresh Oberoi, Anand Pandit, Acharya Manish and Sandip Ssingh, was released Thursday.

On Friday morning, Akhtar tweeted, "I am shocked to find my name on the poster of this movie. I did not write songs for that!

Sameer told TOI: "This is the first time in the history of our cinema that this happens. Javed Sahab phoned me today and we were shocked to find our names on the poster. More surprisingly, none of the crewmembers are reachable. Neither the producer nor the director answers the calls, nor are their phones turned off. Even the team badistants are not available. We need to know who has opposed our names to songs we have not written. "

One of the composers, Hitesh Modak, confirmed to you that he had given music for the film. However, when YOU presented the denials of the lyricists, he disconnected the line. The phone was turned off later.

The film features Vivek Oberoi in the lead and is directed by Omung Kumar Bhandula, who previously directed the biography of Mary Kom. The Oberois were not available to comment. A woman who picked up the phone at Pandit Juhu said at first that he was not at home and then denied the number. Prasoon Joshi, another songwriter whose name appears on the poster, did not answer calls or text messages.

Sameer said he also contacted a senior T-Series officer, who publishes the music. According to Sameer, this officer, too, knew little about the source of information. "We are disturbed and we will have to take action," said Sameer.
