It is hard to believe that only four episodes prevent us from knowing who will win the game of thrones and who, as Cersei coldly declared in the first season, will die. The night was indeed dark and full of terror, with a number of adored characters who met unexpectedly and untimely at various times of their journey. And as we move (not fast enough!) To the battle that is likely to make Red Wedding, the Battle of Castle Black, the Hardhome Mbadacre and the Battle of the Bastards all look like paintball competitions with friends – it is reported to be the longest war footage in the history of film and television, even the magnitude of The Lord Of The Rings – fans are trapped in a debate ignited on the survivors and most likely to meet their creator episode.

If there is one character in the series who is a human manifestation that speaks of the survival instinct, it is Sansa Stark. It is normal that the promotion of the crucial episode began with Sansa's calm but clear voice in the background: "The most heroic thing we can do is look the truth in the face. "Who, after all, was forced to deal with uglier truths than the Lady of Winterfell?"
In season one and two, she sees her golden prince, Joffrey, turn into a coward-but-vicious monster and order the execution of her father before her eyes.She sees her fiancé feasting on her horror and the agony that he repeatedly causes her, even if she is basically taken hostage by his mother to use it later as a political pawn, but manages (for the most part) to keep his facade to be devoted to him intact, leading Tyrion to tell him: "Lady Stark, you can we still survive, "a bittersweet comment that echoes in the first episode of season eight, when that Sansa and Tyrion meet again. "We both survived," she told him with a half smile. This is a big step forward for a girl who arrived at King's Landing with her head filled with romantic notions of marriage and dreams of ruling the Seven Kingdoms with her loving, loving Prince, destined to become the king.
Season 3 sees her pbad as a metaphorical bang, with her commitment to Joffrey set aside and secret plans drawn up to marry her to Loras Tyrell. In the end, she is married to Tyrion, and even though her life is literally the opposite of what she had imagined when leaving Winterfell, she finds a way to survive by the sheer force of her will. She uses her newly acquired skills of lying and manipulating situations to protect herself in Season 4, even as she faces the prospect of another unpleasant marriage, this time with her cousin Robyn, the director of ballast. We are also witnessing her transformation from girl to clever woman.
Despite its new harshness, Season 5 brings a new set of horrors unimaginable, since it is virtually sold to Ramsay, the son of Lord Roose Bolton, the newly anointed young man. Guardian of the North, yet another family who betrayed his own to usurp power. She is raped – brutally and repeatedly – but she continues to look for ways to escape her worst prison, doing everything in her power to survive until she can find an ally.
In many ways, Season 6 is the culmination of all the lessons that Sansa has learned because of the many misfortunes and betrayals of the past five years. No more sweet, confident and naive girl to whom we were introduced for the first time. Sansa is sharp, razor sharp, skilled in manipulation and strategy, very loyal but also deeply suspicious of the motives of anyone who is not family. This is not a woman who can be spoiled, manipulated or influenced by promises of love. It's thanks to his superior spirit that Jon survives the bastard's battle. An uncompromising look at Sansa while Ramsay was attacked and killed by his own hungry, bloodthirsty hounds was like watching his character go around in circles.
Sansa unveils herself as Lady of Winterfell in Season Seven, reigning on the North and preparing for the long winter that announces. As discreet and indifferent as she is outside, we also see the sentimental side of Sansa when she finally finds Arya and Bran, whom she thought were dead. And we know that she finally learned to trust the family before anyone else when, despite all her efforts, Petyr Baelish failed to turn Arya and Sansa against each other. His efforts cost him his life instead.
All this brings us to Sansa in his best, most ferocious season eight. The Lady of Winterfell will not be intimidated – not even by a queen coming armed with two gigantic fire-breathing dragons. It's almost lyrical when we see a friendship between Sansa and Dany. Their travels were difficult and a bit similar, after all. Both were sold to the marriage as girls, with the aim of securing political power. Both have survived impossible chances of recovering their birthright. And both learned to command respect from men who never imagined being ruled by a woman, nor as a queen, nor in custody. Unlike Dany, she did not have two unbeatable dragons to run and literally turned to ashes from those who dared to cross her. His survival depended entirely on his own ability to wait in silence, even if his patience was painful, until the chances were unfavorable. Sansa survived because she observed and learned – slowly sometimes – from all the people who crossed her. She had no tools, no weapons, no army rallied behind her to protect her. On the contrary, since she saw man after man and ally after ally, betraying his trust even after telling him that he loved him. Sansa is superior because she 's done so, using her mind, not because of a magic fire immunity that makes her afraid of any and all. to surrender.
The king of the north might be admirable and honorable, but the north, with its ability to withstand and survive the harshest of winters, deserves a queen. And Sansa deserves to be this queen – the queen of the north.
